Welcome to RJs placel

A Chronic Pain Awareness Website

Under Construction again LOL.

I have started working on a smaller website than I did for Fibromyalga in the 90s, I will keep this one under 1000 pages LOL. I don't know how much I will get involved like I did with the media and for those who remember me taking my wheel chair from NY to FL, I don't think I will be getting that involved again. I am very proud of being a part of helping Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalga being seen as a disease and not a figment of our imaginations. Many people helped that cause and still do. I never did get to use the key to the city of Jacksonville FL LOL.

I am using this website now for the awareness of chronic pain and the problems people encounter with getting help for people who suffer with this terrible Illness. Chronic pain by it's self is an illness that brings on many problems with the human body.

I suffer chronic pain my self and have been for 29 years. I have a insider view of what people go through getting help and what physical and mental problems most every one goes through with chronic pain. I also will add some of the ways I finally got diagnosed right after 10 years of pain no one could find.

I believed when I was a kid that Dr's could find anything wrong with a person from watching Dr shows on TV and fix it, only to learn they can't. I also know after many years of Dr's tiring to give me and others one type of pill after another practicing medicine on us for ailments we do no have. Every once and awhile you get a Dr who will take a chance on listing to the patients ideas, like the one who listened to me about my head, neck, shoulders and arms doing good until I got up in the AM for the day. I told him I thought my disks in my cervical spine were fine once I got to sleep, then when I get up the weigh of my head pushed out the disk material in side my disks that cushions the disks normally but in a herniated disk this jelly like material pushes out and hits nerves causing pain. I also told him about the GE FONAR Stand up MRI in Melville NY that could prove my theory.

This Dr gave me a scrip to get this stand up MRI that really scanned when you were standing up. After one or two lay down MRIs done in Syracuse that showed my c-spine as normal this stand up MRI found two herniated disks and one budging disk. This took 10 years to find and a lot of different Dr's with deaf ears that will not listen to patients because this is out side of the box thinking. In my opinion if you show the signs of a bad back or any part of your spine having symptoms of a problem and a normal MRI shows nothing try to get a stand up MRI. FONAR I believe is the only maker of this MRT

When someone gets a chronic pain problem like several herniated disks no one can see in your neck or back and is tiring to get help from Dr's. Then tiring to tell your family and friends how bad you hurt, when you finally realize no one really wants to here about it that is close to you unless they have a disability also. It's not their fault, I was also the same before I became disabled and most people are because like my self I was healthy once and did not have time for people who I could not understand that were disabled one way or the other, with the exception of one person. I meet him in my high school years by other friends who know him and introduced us, He was legally blind and still is plus he was in his 20s then. To this day we are still friends some 35 years later.

He was different because he did not try to explain his problems to every one more than a few times because it showed & he was not in pain. Chronic pain suffers have a hard time because our problems can not be seen a lot of times in us, we have to defend our self's constantly we think. We look normal and you can't pick us out of a crowd and we can't even be seen as disabled unless we tell someone we are. A lot of people also do show signs of problems that can be seen in mostly walking with a limp to hardly being able to walk. I am a health looking one and it does cause problems in daily life from trying to tell people you can't lift much to many other related problems like perpetual neuropathy in my legs that can't be seen either and more pain problems.

This website contains my opinions of what I have seen my self and been through with chronic pain. It is no intended to diagnose anyone and not to be in any way used in any way as a medical guide.

I have discussion  boards I just put up.

I am on a trip to our daughters wedding but I will still work on this when I am gone.
